BOOK REVIEWS

"The Knife of Never Letting Go" by Patrick Ness

I liked this book because I really wanted to get to the end, but I still enjoyed every twist & turn.

"Dancing in my Nuddy Pants" by Louise Rennison

I liked this book because it is very funny & you can relate to it because Georgia - a teenage girl – writes it. I would recommend this book to teenage girls who like comedy books, but they would have to read the first in the series (Angus, thongs & full-frontal snogging) to understand it.

"Wings" by Aprilynne Pike

I would recommend this book to girls aged 10 & above who like magical & mystical creatures.

Hannah aged 13

"Jacky Daydream" by Jacqueline Wilson

Jacky Daydream is about Jacqueline Wilson’s life and the pictures are amazing. I recommend this book to girls aged 9+

Georgia aged 12

"My Sister Jodie" by Jacqueline Wilson

My Sister Jodie is about two sisters that have totally different personalities. If you have read Bad Girls, it’s a bit like that. I’d recommend it to girls aged 9 – 13+

Kate aged 12

"Invisible City" by M G Harris

Invisible City is about a boy named Joshua. His dad is found dead in his aeroplane, but the plane is miles off course. Read this if you like mystery and action!

Georgia aged 11

"Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman

When a man finds a strange woman bleeding in the street, he takes care of her and finds himself plunged into an alien world full of plots and intrigue. Can he save the world? If you saw the TV adaptation, you'll love the book!

"Shadowforest" by Matt Haig

Samuel's younger sister Martha is about to enter the Shadowforest - a world full of one-eyed trolls and the sinister huldre-folk. Can he save her? Anyone who likes fantasy and fairy-tale creatures will enjoy this book. It's suitable for 9 years and up, but is more of a family book than a child's book because the creatures are a bit confusing.

"Waves" by Sharon Dogar

Who tried to hurt Charlie by knocking her off her surfboard, so she now lies in a coma? Hal gets Charley's thoughts as well as his own as he tries to solve the mystery. I liked this book as it's a bit of a mystery. This is a book that boys and girls over 10 will enjoy. It's confusing at the beginning but if you carry on you will thoroughly enjoy it!

"Twilight" - the Director's Notebook

I liked this book becasue it tells you about how the film was made, the locations they looked at and the first look at the characters. I would recommend this book to any 'Twilight' fans, or film-makers to be!
