Bromley's Squads win the 2010 Balfour Beattie
London Youth Games

bromley's Youth Games squads were the toast of London as they were crowned the 2010 Balfour Beatty London Youth Games champions at Crystal Palace over the weekend of 3/4 July.

More than 30 teams held off the challenge of neighbouring rivals Croydon to pick up the prestigious Jubilee Trophy after amassing a total of 1124 points.

Victories in tennis, athletics and squash at the finals weekend at the National Sports Centre helped tip the balance in Bromley’s favour as they picked up the maximum 50 points in six sports to pip Croydon to the post by six points on home turf.

Bromley proved to be the stars of the show in an action-packed weekend at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre which saw all 33 London boroughs go head-to-head across 17 different sports.

The Bromley squad were following in the footsteps of former London Youth Games attendees Rio Ferdinand, Christine Ohuruogu and Bradley Wiggins by participating at Europe’s largest annual youth sports event.

Bromley's "Summer Slam"

Bromley Council, Bromley Mytime and Charlton Athletics Football Club all worked together to bring some great activities to both central Bromley and the Ramsden estate Orpington on Friday 7 & Saturday 8 August 2009.
